Merry Christmas from Mikey's Muppet Memorabilia Museum!

Big Bird Santa is here to celebrate the holidays!

This is a 13 inch plush Big Bird (9 inches sitting) with the original hangtag and plastic candy cane. This plush toy was made by Hasbro/Playskool in 1988. His hat is tacked on at the sides of his head but is otherwise removable. A similar plush Big Bird without the Santa suit was also produced at the same time.

Muppets Funko Bobble Heads!

An awesome new series of Muppet Wacky Wobbler bobble heads are now available! Five Muppet characters are being made by Funko, the company that has been making bobble heads since at least 2000, if not longer. Not only are these bobble heads exremely well made, but the set includes Dr. Teeth of the Electric Mayhem Band (shown above). I've always wondered why the famous Muppet Show band members were not marketed more often, so I'm really glad to see this figure of Dr. Teeth. He's such a colourful character, and very "Muppety", which makes him very suited to being marketed. I'm hoping that a Floyd Pepper bobble head will be added to this collection someday too. In fact, bring on Zoot and Janice bobble heads also, as the whole band would look great in this Funko format. Below is a side view of Dr. Teeth and the back of the box. The other Muppets in the series are Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and Animal.

Take the Muppet Bobble Head Survey!
Just for fun, I set up a survey to see what character Muppet fans would want Funko to make as a Bobble Head. I've never done this before so I thought I'd try something new! You can answer the survey question at this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/P69QYLG

WINNER!!! - Ugliest Kermit Doll Ever

For this plush Kermit, it's not easy being seen!

It's sad to even post this online, but I can't believe my eyes! I recently found this very poorly made 11-inch Kermit the Frog doll at a local thrift shop. It's by far the ugliest Kermit doll ever made in Kermit's 50 plus years! It's so bad that the manufacturer didn't even attach a tag with their own name on it. The Disney name isn't on this one either. I guess nobody wants to claim that they were responsible for producing this! Very sad to see Kermit being treated this way. The fabric is very thin and cheap quality, and the fabric for the legs was not cut on the bias, causing the leg to twist so that Kermit's feet turn upside-down. But worst of all, the mouth is sewn on in a frown! Hey kids, it's the frowning frog! So sad to see that Disney is letting this type of product be made. It seems to me that the quality of Muppet plush toys has consistently declined ever since Disney took over from the Henson company. Put this Kermit doll next to the Fisher-Price or Eden Gifts doll and you'll see what I mean. I sincerely hope that this is a bootleg plush toy and not an approved Disney product!!! Poor Kermit!!!

Side view of mass produced trash. Nice work Disney!
